What is EC Pride about?
EC Pride is a group that provides a place for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning and straight allied members of the Eckerd College community to chill, meet, hang out, spread awareness and get active in GLBTQ issues.
Upcoming Events: Day of Silence/ Night of Noise Student Drag Competition - Fox Hall - Friday 15th April
*Friday April 15th* is the *Day of Silence*! Show your support for gay,lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people by taking a vow of silence for the day and/or by wearing red and black. Unable to be silent for the whole day? EC Pride will be handing out ribbons for those that would still like to show support. Supplies including red ribbons, duct tape, face make-up, and speaking cards will be available at the mailboxes on the day of the event for anyone that would like to participate.
Afterwords, join us for the *Night of Noise: EC Pride's 4th Annual Student Drag Competition* at *8 PM in Fox Hall*. There will be two student competitions, both open to Queens and Kings with $700 worth of prizes as well as amazing professional performances by our guest judges, food, and a full beverage service! In the Opposite-Gender Impersonation Contest, Kings and Queens will be judged separately with a first prize of $100, a second prize of $50, and a third prize of $25 in each category. In the Lip Sync Performance Competition, Kings and Queens will compete together with a first prize of $200, a second prize of $100, and a third prize of $50. Participants can enter either competition or both, but those planning on entering the Lip Sync Competition must sign up and submit a song less than four minutes in length no later than Thursday April 14th. All participants will be required to check-in, prepared and ready to go, one hour before thecompetition in order to compete.
